The standard Retain installation provides a single set of database files. However, if you plan discrete staff groups separately, or if you want to put Retain to other uses (such as to control room bookings), you may want to set up two or more separate Retain databases. To set up Retain as a multi-database system:

·Create a directory on the relevant network drive(s) for each set of databases you wish to set up.  
·In Retain Manager select File | New.  
·Navigate to the directory and give the new database file (RDB) a name.  

You can also use the Retain Database Wizard in Retain Manager to create a new database.

New databases use the database structure of the database in the template directory.
