The Standard version of Retain holds its data in dbf tables. These can be opened in Access or Excel. Before doing either of these, we strongly recommend that you back up the data.
Excel
In Excel, select File | Open. Change the 'Files of Type' to 'dBase files (*.dbf)'. You can then open the different Retain tables to view the data.
Access
Open an Access database. In the Tables tab, select File | Get External Data. If you want to dynamically link to the data (in order to run queries at your own risk!), select Link Tables. If you just want to import a copy of the data select Import. Change the 'Files of Type' to 'Microsoft FoxPro (*.dbf)'. When prompted if you want to delete the current index, select 'No'. Data in other editions of Retain can be connected to through ODBC.
