Retain Web Enterprise
Web Enterprise requires three basic elements needed in a deployment:
- A database back end where the Retain Data Repository is stored
- A web application server, which implements both the data access logic and the creation of the web content presented to the end user
- A load balancer module which distributes the load of user sessions among a pool of application server instances
The following database platforms are supported:
- SQL Server 2000 or higher
- Oracle 9i or higher
Software requirements would be as follows:
- Operating System Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition (SP1, SP2 or R2)
- Web Server Internet Information Services 6.0, No Extensions
- XML Parsing MsXML 4.0 SP2, Microsoft XML Core Services
- Database Connectivity Oracle client software for deployments based on a Oracle database back-end
The following web browsers are supported:
- Internet Explorer 5 or higher
- Firefox 1.5 or higher
As an example, if the target concurrent usage is around 100 users and 500-800 resources in the Retain repository, then the hardware requirements would be as follows:
- CPU Intel Pentium D 2.80 Ghz or higher
- RAM 2 GB or higher
- Hard Disk 80GB hard disk. No RAID technology advised or necessary, since persistence is performed at the database level
